Located at 107 Edinburgh S Dr, Cary, NC 27511, Wasabi Sushi & Thai Restaurant operates as a japanese serving Cary in North Carolina. Google also lists it under thai restaurant, which is worth knowing if you are comparing several options in the area.

Portion sizes and pricing swing widely across this group, from a $10 lunch bowl to a multi-course tasting menu at an upscale sushi counter, so checking recent reviews and photos is more useful than the price range alone. In Cary, dinner reservations for popular izakaya, hot pot and Korean BBQ spots fill up on Friday and Saturday nights, so booking ahead or arriving at opening is worth it. Many restaurants across North Carolina run daily lunch specials on weekdays that are not listed on the dinner menu, so it is worth asking. Halal, vegetarian and gluten-free options vary a lot by kitchen; call ahead if you have a dietary restriction rather than assuming the menu will note it.

The business lists hours on 7 days of the week. On most of those days it is open 11:30 am–9 pm. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. The listed phone number is (919) 460-7980. Cary is in North Carolina, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. Getting around Cary is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across North Carolina's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

We felt the vibe of the restaurant instantly as we entered. The place is very well decorated to match the vibe. Our waiter was extremely nice and his service was professional. Now to begin on the food, I had the Thai beef soup. The beef was perfectly tender and the soup was well seasoned. We also tried the boat, which has a different assortment of sushi. The sushi was well made and the fish was like butter. Overall great experience.

We stopped by this restaurant on a Wednesday around 4:00 PM. The space has a lovely atmosphere with a lot of natural light, which makes for a pleasant setting. However, I did notice a slightly off-putting odor when we walked in—it’s not overpowering, but it’s a peculiar smell that’s a bit different from what you'd expect in an Asian restaurant. Our experience with the food was mixed. We started with the miso soup, which felt a bit thin—it needed more depth and a stronger miso paste flavor for my taste. The seaweed salad was just okay. The steamed gyoza were unfortunately overcooked and lost their proper texture, and while the other dumplings had a good flavor, they were a bit too oily. On the brighter side, my husband ordered the octopus dish and absolutely loved it—he thought it was great. The chicken satay was also good, though the accompanying peanut sauce had a slightly strange, overly sweet profile that felt a bit unusual. Regarding the sushi, I found the options a bit limited for my taste. Since I don’t eat raw fish and prefer to avoid spicy ingredients, my choices were restricted. I ordered the Samurai Roll (deep-fried with salmon and cream cheese) and the Vegetable Roll.

Year after year after year, Wasabi continues to deliver — and that kind of consistency is rare in the restaurant world. This is one of Raleigh’s true sushi institutions: reliable, welcoming, and still genuinely excellent every single time. The fish is consistently fresh, clean, and expertly prepared, whether you’re ordering classic nigiri, sashimi, or specialty rolls. Nothing feels overdone or gimmicky — just balanced flavors, proper technique, and ingredients that speak for themselves. You can taste the experience behind the sushi bar. What keeps people coming back, though, is the whole experience. The atmosphere is relaxed and familiar, the service is warm and attentive, and there’s a sense that the team truly cares about maintaining their standards. It feels like a neighborhood favorite that never slipped — even as Raleigh’s dining scene exploded around it. In a city full of new sushi spots chasing trends, Wasabi proves that consistency, quality, and authenticity still win.

I went here a while ago. The food is fantastic. Highly recommend if you are in the mood for some really good Asian cuisine. Started off the meal with the Crab Puffs (which I’m not a huge fan of crab), but I’ve had crab puffs before and the cream cheese and sauce the usually come with change my taste buds mind. These were exceptional. Also got the Wasabi Platter. This is a great starter if you want to try a few things for a reasonable price. It comes with spring rolls (delicious), shrimp in a blanket (delicious), Satay (delicious), and then fried as well as steamed gyoza (I think they were both just fine). For my main meal I got Kang Ped Yang, which is duck. The broth it was soaked in was fortunately not too spicy for me (I can’t handle heat too well). But it was cooked to perfection and the meat was tender. Lastly I got the fried cheesecake and fried ice cream… in all honesty, the fried ice cream was whatever. Nothing too special. The fried cheesecake was delectable though. I would recommend this place to anyone.

Omg! This is my favorite Thai place. The food is absolutely amazing 😋 I wish we had a Wasabi in Charlotte. I go to Duke for infusions every 4 weeks and I love stopping here to treat myself after. Best food ever!
